Tarot Cards – Suits

Each tarot card is a small collage. Some use reproductions of my paintings or larger collages; others use portions of traditional tarot or playing cards. This is not a standard tarot deck–rather, it is meant to invite the user’s own interpretations.

The suits were devised to conjure up the four elements and the five senses, recognizable in the imagery. The full deck (not all of it shown here) contains 52 cards in four suits, plus two jokers. The backs of the cards, viewed by hovering over the images, display excerpts from traditional ballads, familiar poems, and other texts expressing the theme or mood of the visual images.
